Mussel Soup

It was raining here yesterday, so I thought of cooking something soupy. I found my box of mussel in the freezer and luckily I had some ginger in my fridge. It’s a very simple recipe. Unfortunately I didn’t have any leafy vegetable to add to my menu. I usually put spinach, but I didn’t feel like going to the store so it had to do without it. It turned out so good, and aside from the soup is hot, it’s a little spicy. It opened up my sinus and it made me breathe better

I had a dream house when I was in High School. Every time I passed that house, I kept telling myself I want one of those someday. It was a simple bungalow, with fence and it’s gated, there was a car parked behind the gate. For a 15 year -old girl, that was a big dream. Then I turned into adult and had a family of my own. We have a house and it’s big enough for all 6 kids and 2 adults. But, I am dreaming for more. I guess, we never stop dreaming until we get what we want.

Chinese Buffet In Orange Beach, AL

Chinese food has always been our favorite food. Whenever we go somewhere, we always look for Chinese Restaurant. I think, we normally eat Chinese food at least twice a month. When we went to Orange Beach this weekend, it was no different. We had to find a Chinese Restaurant to complete our getaway.

Fortunately, my niece remembered this place that they went too and she told us how to get there. It’s a little far from where she’s staying at, but we wanted to treat her out to eat. My husband is a big critic when it comes to food and service. We have had many Chinese Buffets that we tried and we have two favorite places here in our area.

When I see Chinese place, I always think of Hot and Sour soup, or if it’s my fave Asian Grill Buffet here, it’s Miso soup with clams. I normally eat seafood when I go to Chinese Restaurant, I want to get my money’s worth. When it’s dinner time, I eat lots of Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Clams, baked salmon and so on and so forth. If I feel like it, I also go for unlimited crab legs.

In our case last weekend, we weren’t satisfied with our dinner. Taste wise, it’s not as good as we expected. The service was so poor. Our server only kept taking our empty plates without asking if we needed anything else. She didn’t even give us second serving of drinks, nor asked us if we need more. Tsk!She’s not as attentive as the ones that we have here in our area.

None of their food taste as good as what we have here. But sometimes, when you are hungry, you just have to eat, and also not to waste our money. My niece enjoyed it so much. It’s the first Chinese restaurant she’s even been since coming to Untied States. She doesn’t know any better.

I asked my husband how much tip he gave our server, he said, he didn’t feel like leaving her a tip because of his dissatisfaction but, he knows that servers only make so much and tips help them make enough. He said, she’s lucky he gave her $2. Is my husband mean? I don’t think so. I know of a lot of people who don’t give a tip at all…

I remember when my husband bought a guitar, he also bought an amplifier,I guess, they are partners, needed to be together all the time. A lot of people know what kind of musical instrument they need with their gadgets, and when you love music, you cannot survive without one.

A New Set of Knives

This is what my best friend Alena gave me for my birthday. Isn’t she wonderful? She knows what I need. I think she heard me when I said that I am needing a new set of knives since all my knives are dull and I can’t sharpen them anymore. She knows that I cook a lot, and she said that she wants to giver me something that would remind me of her. She gave me the perfect gift. I need this knife set, I was planning on buying a new one. My best friend knows me well enough to get me something that I love.

Now, I am enjoying my cooking moments. I love to chop meat, and veggies. Now, I do it with ease. Wohoooo! I so love love it…

My Weight Loss Goal

Although I am doing some natural way to lose weight, I might consider taking something to expedite my weight loss goal. When Remodeling Your Kitchen

We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and I believe that kitchen remodeling Raleigh branch can help us with ideas and designs. Although I know that I will not buy any home decor soon, I always look around and do my “online window shopping” and keep telling myself that when I have few extra bucks, I will buy that, I will buy this. This is my therapy, it helps and I feel good afterwards. We are trying to save some money for our Philippines trip in 2015. Yes, I have 3 years to save and I am looking forward to our vacation. That’s why right now, we are not looking to buy new stuff. We have everything that we need. If we ever buy anything new, that would be luxury for us. We are simple people with simple needs and what we have in the house is good enough to last us forever.

But, there is no harm in dreaming, it’s free, might as well dream the dream and be happy and just tell yourself “one day, you’ll be mine”
