We celebrated Wrozlie’s 6th birthday at ChuckECheeses last January 7th, and it was just a simple get together. We didn’t invite a lot of people since we weren’t planning on having a big birthday. But next year, I am hoping for a bigger celebration. I will save for it. Traditionally in the Philippines, when it’s 7th birthday, it was being celebrated big time, I don’t know the significance, but I will try to give my daughter a nice birthday.

We had pizza, cookie cake, soda and salad. Simple food for simple birthday. I would like to thank Ms. Alena and Mr. Shawn and the kids for coming to our birthday, and also for Ms. Julie for bringing Samantha at the birthday, Wrozlie was very happy.

I guess, fattening food is OK sometimes, as long as it’s for special occasion. Well, pizza is the kids all time favorites, so why not give them something that they will enjoy eating?

Last December 8th was my son’s 18th birthday, and don’t bother to calculate my age I asked him what food he wanted and he said he likes Chinese food, so Chinese it is.We didn’t plan on eating out that night since it’s a school night, and hubby was tired coming home from work. I gave my son an option of getting cash or have a pizza party at home. He was smart enough to get the cash and he went out with only one friend, and she’s a girl ..hmmmmm….

We have a close Chinese take out and all I did was call in the order and I can drive to pick it up. Our place is so close to a lot of restaurants and fast foods. We are about a mile and a half from I-65, so, there’s a bunch of gas stations and hotels and food places. We are closest to Joe Rooster, (half a mile from our home), Hardees, Dairy Queen, McDonalds (where my son works) Burger King, Pizza Hut, Mexican Restaurant and much more. Bad thing about being close to these food places, sometimes, I get lazy to cook coz I can just call and without putting on nice outfit, I can just pick it up from their drive thru window. Isn’t that cool, or what?

But anyways, these photos below are some of our favorite food from Taste of China, normally we get egg drop soup, but this time we didn’t, I don’t know why I didn’t, I guess it wasn’t that cold outside when I did the ordering.

After the dinner, there was cake and my son got help from his 2 younger sisters blowing his cake. I cannot believe that I have an 18 year old son now. When has the years gone by?

My husband said that we don’t need to put up our Christmas tree since we are going to Illinois to celebrate Christmas with my aunt’s family and my mom. At first I was fine with it. But then, I feel so lonely and when I hear Christmas songs on the radio, I feel sad that our house doesn’t have any Christmas spirit. So I told him, I don’t care if we are not going to be here on Christmas, I want to have the tree up. So, there it is. This year, I wanted Silver and red for my ornaments, last year, I had gold.

My friend is getting married this week and I don’t know what to give her. Well, I bought something but not sure if this would be alright. She said, I don’t have to bother, but well, I can’t go empty handed, where is my pride? Do you think, candle holders would be enough? Her fiancee already had everything that they need in the kitchen, so I don’t want to buy something that they already have. You can never go wrong with candles and such. As long as it looks nice and elegant I guess.

Aren’t they all gorgeous, aside from they will make your homes smell so glorious, they also add elegance wherever you place them. I so love it, I will definitely get me more and the good thing is, unlike those plug ins, you only need to turn this on when you need your homes to smell good. What are you waiting for? Almost every store has them. Walmart, Carson Pirie Scott, Target, Belk, Sears, JC Penney and more…

The day after tomorrow will be the Thanksgiving day and people are so busy going to the grocery stores to buy their holiday dinner. We are going to my in laws, since that’s what we do every year. We eat lunch at their house and we do whatever for dinner. I will have some friends coming over from Tennessee and they will sleep over here, so we can do our Black Friday shopping. I already bought me a turkey, ham, 2 hams actually, I will bring the other at the in laws. I might bring some egg rolls, since I know that some of my in laws will eat it, and if I don’t get lazy I will make some pancit. I bought 14 lbs. of turkey, I wonder who’s going to eat that big bird, 7 lbs. ham and some veggies. Cooking American food is not my thing, I asked hubby to buy me some Filipino veggies so I can make Pakbet for me, Grace and Lhiza.
